Resources re: Signal Phase and Timing Feeds

We have received a couple of questions re: what is required to understand the feed providing the signal phase and timing information in the SAE J2735 standard format, so I wanted to address that before we kick things off tomorrow.

The actual full standard is indeed only available through SAE for a pretty hefty fee. We don't have access to that full standard nor do we have the ability to share that with you for this event.

Instead, I'd like to point everyone to the resource page for the National SPaT Challenge website at https://transportationops.org/spatchallenge/resources. I think you'll find enough info there to figure things out. If not, please let me know and we'll keep looking for additional resources to use.

Please note that the SPaT feed is just one of many feeds within the SmarterRoads Data Portal that may be used to meet the submission requirement.
